CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The pedestrian hit and killed on Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield County on Thursday has been identified as a 45-year-old Norfolk man.
The crash took place just after 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, in the 9300 block of Midlothian Turnpike near its intersection with North Arch Road.
According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, a 2017 BMW 540i sedan was moving east on Midlothian Turnpike when it hit 45-year-old Kevelyn Henderson, who was in the roadway.
Henderson was taken to a local hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.
A police spokesperson told 8News that Henderson appears to be from Norfolk, per Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) records. At the time of the crash, he was staying in Chesterfield, in the 200 block of Arboretum Place.
The driver of the BMW remained at the scene after the crash and is cooperating with police as the department continues to investigate this incident.
