(NBC) — “America’s Got Talent” returns Monday starting its 19th year on NBC and for the new season there is a major change involving the judges.
The wow factor on “AGT” is always high, this season, it might be higher than ever.
“Wow? It is wow, it’s double wow,” said Judge Howie Mandel about the new season.
So much wow the show’s producers adjusted.
“’Wow’ is the Golden Buzzer and we have two of those this year,” said Mandel.
Two chances for each judge to send acts to the live shows.
“You just feel it when you see them on the stage and my stomach is talking to me and then it’s like, “No, this is the one,” said Judge Heidi Klum.
Even acts that aren’t golden can still be wow like a toddler math whiz.
“Two years old. He could barely speak, he was still in diapers,” said Klum.
“All I can say is that I am always shocked at what we see,” said Host Terry Crews. “And that’s what makes this thing so special.”
Sometimes that shock comes from far away, like a contortionist from India.
“Thank God there are these people out there who’ve got this talent, who want to share it and they really care,” said show creator Simon Cowell
Getting America to care and eventually vote will land one act a $1 million prize.
“If what we’ve seen so far is any indication of what the entire season is going to be, this is going to be through the roof,” said Mandel.
“America’s Got Talent” premieres Monday at 8 p.m. on NBC4, followed by an all-new episode of “Password”, featuring Jimmy Fallon and Joel McHale.
