RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Thursday performance of the Broadway musical “Annie” at the Altria Theater ended suddenly due to a “medical situation,” according to a Broadway in Richmond spokesperson.
On Jan. 18, an unidentified cast member experienced a “medical situation” about eight minutes before the show’s scheduled end, according to the spokesperson. After assessing the cast member’s condition, the cast and crew decided to end the show early.
“Both Broadway In Richmond and the producers of Annie apologize and likewise express their appreciation for the audience’s patience while the issue was handled swiftly and safely,” the spokesperson said.
The cast member is safe and well, according to the spokesperson. ‘Annie’ will continue as scheduled, with showtimes from Friday, Jan. 19, to Sunday, Jan. 21.
