VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Ten different artists from across the country created beautiful works of art throughout a 10-day mural festival in the ViBe Creative District.
The festival started on May 10 and will finish up on Sunday. Citizens were able to take golf cart tours around the district to view the murals as they were being painted and meet the artists.
One of the local artists, Lisa Ashinoff, incorporated Virginia Beach landmarks like the homes on stilts in Sandbridge and her alma mater, Cape Henry Collegiate School.
“I wanted to bring in elements that were unique to me, significant, but not obvious to Virginia Beach, so not your traditional landmarks,” she said.
If you go check out the murals tomorrow, you still have time to participate in their Instagram challenge and win a $100 gift card to one of the businesses in the district. You can find the details on hrScene.com
