We are in the middle of a cold blast across the region today. However, a large portion of the country will encounter a big warmup over the next few days.

This morning we started with temps in the teens and 20s. Wind chills were closer to 10 degrees in several locations. Meanwhile temperatures were in the negative double digits over parts of the Midwest.

Temperatures This Morning

A strong cold front has moved offshore. Colder air will keep filtering in through the day.

High pressure will build into the area. So we’ll have full sunshine with only a spotty cloud or two. Winds will be out the north then west at 8-12 mph. High temps will be in the low 30s or near 30 degrees. Wind chills will be in the 20s at times.

Tomorrow, winds will be out of the south.  So we’ll warm up to the upper 40s with a mix of sun and clouds. The Midwest will really warm up (relatively speaking). Temps will rise to around 20 degrees in the afternoon. Then as we go into Saturday they will warm to the low-mid 30s while we warm to the 50s.

In the Midwest, some temperatures will be rising about 50-60 degrees in a 60 hour period.

Locally, we’ll warm up even more into early next week. High temps will rise into the 60s. It will probably stay in the 60s for about 3-4 days. Crazy temps but overall quiet weather!
