VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A boat that got stuck on the beach at the Oceanfront was taken away by heavy machinery on Thursday afternoon.

According to Coast Guard officials, the boat’s operator radioed in at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday that the boat’s engine had failed.

He was able to make it back to shore, riding the waves to the beach, where the boat became stuck right around the 9th Street area.

No one was injured and the boat was hauled out by a front loader. A photo near the First Street Jetty Thursday afternoon shows the boat supported by straps as the front loader drove away.
