NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk brewery is moving its operations.

Bold Mariner Brewing Company said in a news release on its website it is closing its current location in Lambert’s Point, and moving to a larger building in East Ocean View.

The former Bank of The Commonwealth building on E. Ocean View Avenue will to be transformed into a 7,000 square foot location for the Brewery, which opened in November 2015.

Last year, the company announced plans to make the building in Ocean View it’s second location.

The brewery’s president says with the emergence of so many breweries in the area, he feels the market is less predictable now.

In a statement, he said, “We want to be thoughtful with Bold Mariner’s growth and concentrate on our execution. Essentially, we don’t want to risk stretching ourselves thin.”

Construction on the new facility is set to begin in the spring of this year. The brewery has not said when construction is expected to be completed.

The tasting room at Lambert’s Point will remain open until the new building is ready.
