PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Bon Secours Mercy Health Foundation (BSMH) has tapped Carrie Miller as its new president.

Miller previously served as the foundation’s senior gift officer for organizational giving. For nearly a decade, Miller has helped secure significant grant funding from both private and government sources to support Hampton Roads.

“In this role, I look forward to helping Bon Secours Hampton Roads advance health care in our market by enhancing our donor experience and elevating our philanthropic impact,” said Miller. “Taking on the role of president is both an honor and a responsibility I embrace with great enthusiasm, especially as Bon Secours Hampton Roads is experiencing tremendous growth.”

Miller has taken on various leadership roles throughout her tenure with Bon Secours. Her service includes a stint on the market’s executive leadership committee and as the market liaison for advocacy and government affairs. She also chaired the sponsorship committee.

Before joining Bon Secours, Miller served as development and operations director for Junior Achievement of Greater Hampton Roads. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Clemson University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Virginia.
