CHERRY POINT, N.C (WNCT) — This Saturday and Sunday, the Cherry Point Air Show will take off in front of crowds from all over North Carolina.

The Blue Angels will be the featured performers along with other civilian and military performances. But before the biggest air show in Eastern North Carolina takes flight, it’s all up to the crew who gets early preps in order.

Christopher Demars, the deputy director for operations and lead planner, says the work starts well before the year starts.

“Our staff, has been at work for this for well over a year now,” he said. “We put in our application for the Blue Angels after our ‘21 air show. And started working with teams to start preparing the airshow and preparing the base itself.”
