GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The Greensboro Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was killed at an apartment on Saturday night.

At around 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, officers came to an apartment on the 300 block of O’Connor Street after getting a report of a shooting.

The victim, who was a man, died as a result of his injuries at the scene.

Investigators later identified the victim as 67-year-old James Willis Chesnutt Jr.

Police are investigating the man’s death as a homicide. There is no suspect information available at this time.

The police department says that the man’s death is the eighth homicide of the year in Greensboro.
