YORKTOWN, Va. (WAVY) — A woman responsible for managing bowling league funds is now accused of stealing some of that money.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Stephanie Van Dusen of Newport News is facing a charge of embezzlement. She was arrested after being accused of stealing $60,000 from the Bowlero Bowling Alley located at 4200 George Washington Memorial Highway, in Yorktown.

The sheriff’s office received a complaint on Jan. 20 and began investigating.

Investigators assigned to the case determined that between August 2024 and January 2025, the person hired to manage the bowling league funds had stolen in excess of $60,000.

On March 18, investigators arrested Van Dusen. She’s expected in court on March 26.
