DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Danville Police reports they have arrested a man in connection to a homicide that occurred on Piney Forest Road on the evening of June 18.
DPD says around 10:49 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the Woodside Village apartment complex on the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road and found 24-year-old Tasean Delvecchio Farmer with multiple gunshot wounds.
Tasean was taken to SOVAH Health where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
Police say that 22-year-old Richard Lee Wilson of Danville was identified as a suspect and allegedly fled the scene after the shooting. Wilson was later found and taken into custody in North Carolina.
Wilson is charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of a firearm during the commission of a violent felony, reckless handling of a firearm, and discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.
Danville Police say the investigation is still ongoing; however, they believe this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public.
