ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) – An Elizabeth City man has been sentenced in connection with a murder that occurred in August of 2020.
Honorable R. Andrew Womble sentenced 20-year-old Trevor Dybowski to up to 120 months in prison with 1,225 days credit after Dybowski pleaded guilty to second degree murder.
Court documents reveal that on Aug. 22, 2020 at approximately 3:47 p.m., Elizabeth City officers were notified of a gunshot wound victim located at 607 South Road Street. Officers arrived to the scene to find the victim, 19-year-old Dominique Maxwell Daquizan, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Daquizan was then airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Dybowski is currently being held at the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.
