A woman who lives nearby told 10 On Your Side that six bullets hit her car.
“We ducked and crawled from that room, through the living room, into the hallway, and they were still shooting, and my son, he was running out of his room because this is his bedroom window,” said Nicole Waughan, a witness to the deadly shooting, pointing to the room. “My car was right here, and bullets were coming this way.”
According to Newport News Police records, this makes the 28th homicide of the year for the city.
Police say they do not plan to release the victim’s name because of his age.
