PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Police have taken one person of interest into custody and are looking for a second after a man was shot on Friday in Portsmouth.

Police said the shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. and the 19-year-old male was found in the 200 block of Dale Drive, off Deep Creek Boulevard, with life-threatening gunshot wounds to the body. The victim was transported to the hospital and is now in stable condition.

Investigators said they were searching for 23-year-old Trevon Dionte Avery and 18-year-old Keyshawn Darrell Avery as persons of interest.

Trevon Avery was apprehended in Newport News over the weekend on several charges, including receiving/buying stolen goods and reckless driving. Though at this time he has not been charged in connection the homicide. He is being held at the Newport News Correctional Center.

On Wednesday, police said investigators have located Keyshawn Avery and are now searching for a third person of interest, 19-year-old Dakari Donnell White.
