PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The Portsmouth Police Department arrested a man wanted for multiple felonies after a pursuit on Feb. 8.
Police stated that on Feb. 8, there was an attempted vehicle stop which led to the suspect, Steven Riddle, fleeing to the 3300 block of Dartmouth Street. Riddle then led the police on a foot pursuit, ultimately hiding under a house.
Police were able to utilize a thermal imaging device, provided by the Portsmouth Fire Department, to locate Riddle’s exact location.
Portsmouth police were eventually able to coerce Riddle out from under the house after several hours and take him into custody.
After the incident, Riddle, who was originally wanted for multiple felonies including robbery using force, aggravated malicious wounding and strangling resulting in an injury, was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, gun with drugs, felony eluding and driving revoked-DUI related.
