SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — State Police issued a Critically Missing Adult alert, that has since expired, for a 34-year-old woman who disappeared in the town of Newsoms.
The Southampton County Sheriff’s Office says the woman was last seen on Thursday around 9 p.m. on Thomaston Road.
Deputies received a call from Cynthia Carver’s mother on Friday around 1 p.m., who was concerned about her daughter’s welfare.
When deputies responded to Carver’s residence located on Everett Street, they reportedly found blood inside.
Deputies say there was enough blood found in the home to suggest that a crime had occurred. The residence was secured and a search warrant was obtained.
State Police say there is no suspect or vehicle information at this time.
“The last time I talked to her, it was Thursday night. She had the kids then, cause she hadn’t taken them to the babysitter. I haven’t talked to her since then, ” said Cynthia’s mother, Ann Carver.
Family members have already made flyers with her picture on it and started passing them out, in hopes of bringing her home safely.
“She was supposed to go on a job, so yesterday afternoon I came through here and the front door was open. I usually go by, but I stopped and came in and when I came in I saw blood and stuff in the house,” said Ann.
Ann says that is not the only thing she saw inside the home.
“Right here at the door and in the living room and there was a knife lying in front of the sofa,” said Ann.
Anyone with information on her location or where she has been seen should contact the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office or the Crime Line.
