VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A driver died Tuesday after crashing on Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach.

In a tweet, police said the crash happened off Lynnhaven Parkway. Traffic was reduced to two lanes as a result of the crash; drivers were urged to use caution.

Police said a woman driving an Acura CLS east on Princess Anne when she veered right, went off the road and crossed several lanes of traffic.

The car then hit a curb, went airborne and landed on a Dominion Energy support line. Police said the car eventually fell off the wire and hit a concrete sidewall.

The woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later later died. Police said her death was the result of a medical condition and her name is being withheld until her next-of-kin is notified.
