NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — There are several egg-stravagant works of art on display at MacArthur Center in Downtown Norfolk.

Five artists were chosen to create original masterpieces on giant, fiberglass eggs in the spirit of Easter.

Some artists included bunnies and the pastel colors of Spring in their creations, while others took a more abstract approach.

Organizers say the new event is all about showcasing the talent the community has to offer, and giving shoppers something exciting to see.

“We wanted something a little bit different. We wanted something vibrant, and we wanted something very eye-catching as well. So you typically think of Easter eggs you might think of small and hidden like an Easter egg hunt, and we wanted you to step into center court and see these eggs and take a step back and really look at them and just realize what talent lies within the community,” said Dana Cornish, MacArthur Center Assistant Marketing Director.

The eggs will be on display throughout the month of April. You can find them on the first level of the mall, beside the Easter Bunny, of course.
