ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) – Elizabeth City police are investigating a shooting incident that sent two men to the hospital on Friday.

Officers responded to a call about gunshots being fired just before noon in the 500 block of Edge Street. Police began looking for potential victims that may have been shot when they arrived on scene.  

A second call was received a few minutes later for two men that arrived at Sentara Albermarle Hospital with gunshot wounds. 

Both Alexander Johnson and Ronrico Cummings were transported to the hospital by an unknown person in a private vehicle, according to police. 

Johnson suffered a gunshot to his right buttock and Cummings suffered an injury to his left eye and possibly a broken right arm. Neither victim is cooperating with law enforcement about how these injuries occurred.
