VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Two weeks after she went missing, Bellamy Gamboa’s family gathered to mark her birthday and pleaded for information in her disappearance.
More than 100 crowded into the Manor House at the The Carriage Homes at Lawson Hall on Monday evening to mark Gamboa’s 40th birthday, even though she wouldn’t be in attendance.
“Bring Bellamy home please, God,” Emmanuel Gamboa, her father, told the crowd. “We want her back.”
Gamboa, a mother of four, vanished July 1 after last being seen at the Diamond Springs Apartments in Virginia Beach.
Two days later, police say her car was towed from Pickering Street in Lake Edward after being found abandoned next to a dumpster.
Police say they found Gamboa’s car at the tow company the evening of July 4 during their investigation.
On July 5, Virginia State Police issued a Critically Missing Adult (Ashanti) Alert saying the mother of four was likely abducted and in danger.
Over the last 16 days, police have conducted foot searches and have used boats, drones and helicopters in the search. Loved ones and strangers have also organized searches near Gamboa’s apartment and the Lake Edward neighborhood.
On top of that, friends of Gamboa, along with members of the community have organized search parties nightly.
The FBI is now providing resources to the Virginia Beach Police Department in search.
Her family offered an undisclosed cash reward and issued a plea for her return.
Gamboa is 5’1″, 135 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. She has a band of roses tattoo on her upper right arm and “Bellamy” on her right ankle.
