FBI Norfolk assisting with search for man connected to child sexual abuse case

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC/WAVY) — FBI Norfolk alerted the Hampton Roads media Friday that it is trying to find a man who could provide “critical information” on the identity of a child sexual abuse victim.

On Thursday, Nov. 14, the Richmond, Virginia arm of the agency posted a seeking information bulletin to its Facebook page regarding “John Doe 49.”


According to the FBI, this unknown man “may have critical information pertaining to the identity of a child victim in a sexual exploitation investigation.”

The FBI described John Doe 49 as a 45-to-65-year-old white man who is bald with a dark goatee.

The agency provided stills from a video featuring John Doe 49 that it believes was filmed on or before July 2004, which are shown above. They feature his face and multiple of his tattoos.

The five visible tattoos include the word “Dabby” on the right side of his chest and “197” and potentially other text on his left bicep, as well as additional tattoos on his left forearm, right forearm and right bicep.
