HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A 33-year-old convicted felon that was wanted by police for his involvement in a shooting on July 28 was taken into custody on Wednesday.
Hampton police say Jimmy Antwan Anthony, Sr. of Hampton was arrested in James City County without incident. He has been charged with maiming, use of firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The shooting incident happened around 2:20 a.m. on July 28 in the 200 block of Albert E. Simpson street. A 60-year-old man died as a result. Police said Anthony and the victim had gotten into a fight before the shooting took place.
According to police, Anthony had another active warrant for his arrest for a felony probation violation involving the sale of illegal narcotics.
