CAMDEN COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — As rain poured down outside, a fire inside a Camden County firehouse heavily damaged several emergency vehicles.

Firefighters responded to the fire Thursday night at the South Camden Volunteer Fire Department at 114 Sawyers Creek Road around 9:30 p.m.

According to Camden County Manager Ken Bowman, a firefighter who lives nearby spotted smoke, went to the station and saw smoke coming from the building.
