NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A former U.S. Navy senior chief who was involved in a fraud scheme that cost the Navy more than $2 million will spend the next two years in prison.
Clayton Pressley III, 42, pleaded guilty to conspiring with two other people in May of 2014 to form a sham government contracting firm.
The group used legitimate vendors to fraudulently subcontract business from the Navy. Prosecutors said the firm was ostensibly formed to provide “inert training aids” to local Navy units.
Pressley was sentenced to two years in prison for his involvement in the scheme.
