GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) – A robbery suspect in Gloucester didn’t get far after leaving the scene of the crime, officials say.

The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a robbery at the 7-Eleven in the 5100 block of George Washington Memorial Highway just before 1 a.m. Friday.

Patrol units flooded the area and located the suspect a short distance from the 7-Eleven.

Deputies charged 34-year-old Shane Phillip Van Cleave with robbery. He’s being held in the Gloucester County Jail with no bond.
