Gloucester school board has no time frame for possible bathroom policy resolution

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Gloucester County’s school board says it will not take action on a possible alternative restroom resolution at its work session onThursday, and hinted it might not make any moves in the near future.

The proposal would allow transgender students to use the bathroom for the gender they identify with if they have documentation from a doctor.

The resolution stems from the years-long court case involving Gavin Grimm.

In a news release Thursday, the school board said it has set no time frame for “when any action will be taken or when any further discussion will be held” on the issue.

The public was allowed to weigh in on the proposal at the board’s work session earlier this week.
