Hampton man shot during argument

Hampton Police are investigating an overnight shooting.

The call came out at 2:20 a.m. Saturday for a shooting on Albert E. Simpson street.  When officers arrived, they found a 60-year-old Hampton man inside of a home.


Medics took the man to a local hospital with a single gunshot wound.  His injuries are considered non life-threatening and he is in stable condition.

Officials say the victim was inside of a residence when a verbal argument took place between the suspect and an unknown victim.  The suspect displayed a firearm and shot the victim before leaving the area. 

Investigators are still working to learn the exact motive and circumstances surrounding this shooting.  They currently do not have any suspect information to release.
