HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Early Tuesday morning, before opening the school, administration at Lindsay Middle School were notified of a student having a weapon in their possession.
They quickly collaborated with the school resource officer (SRO) and found a student in fact did have three kitchen knives in their backpack.
The situation was isolated, so the safety of the students and staff was not compromised at any time, according to school officials.
The student has since been disciplined according to the Hampton City Schools Student’s Right and Responsibilities Handbook, and their parents were notified. No criminal charges have been taken out against the student.
