HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A Hampton man has been arrested in connection to an April shooting on Childs Avenue that left a man with life-threatening injuries.
Caleb Devon Ovanati Freeman, 25, has been charged with one count of aggravated malicious wounding, one count of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling and one count of felony failure to appear.
The shooting happened on April 24 just before 3:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Childs Avenue. The victim, who was found suffering from a single gunshot wound, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Freeman is being held at the Hampton City Jail. He also faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, driving under a revoked license and failure to appear in connection to prior incidents.
