KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. (WAVY) — The impact from Tropical Storm Michael prompted officials in Kill Devil Hills to declare a State of Emergency on Friday.
Officials said in a Facebook post Friday that several areas of the town were inundated with water during the overnight hours. Members the police and fire department set up barricades on several roads and intersections.

Michael swept across the region Thursday night, leaving behind a mess of downed trees, power outages and road closures.
