PASQUOTANK COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — A 22-year-old man was arrested and served with six warrants for Felony 2nd Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor on Monday.
On Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office began conducting an investigation on Cody Paul Baker for possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material.
Assisted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, an operation was conducted on Monday, Oct. 28, to take Baker into custody.
Following Baker’s arrest, search warrants were performed on one residence located in the 600 block of Cedar Street and two in the 100 block of Parkers Lane in Elizabeth City. Items seized included cell phones, firearms, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, various controlled substances, and $3,437.00 in US Currency.
Initially, Baker received a $30,000.00 bond. His bond was modified to $60,000.00 by Tuesday, Oct. 29. Baker was also served with additional warrants in connection to a Felony Domestic Violence Protection Order Violation.
As of Thursday, Oct. 31, Baker is confined to Albemarle District Jail under a $105,000.00 bond.
The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are likely.
