Boil water notice lifted for VB’s Thoroughgood neighborhood

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A water main break caused a localized loss of water pressure, which forced people in some parts of the Thoroughgood neighborhood of Virginia Beach to boil their water.

The city’s Department of Public Utilities issued an immediate boil water notice they expected would last until at least 9 p.m. Friday, but it was lifted earlier than expected. The City sent an update just after 11 a.m. Friday that public utilities had finished its water sample testing and it passed, meeting all state and federal requirements for drinking water quality.

The notice was issued for the following addresses in the Thoroughgood neighborhood:

The department thanked impacted residents for their patience and apologized for any inconvenience.
