CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – The Chesapeake Fire Department responded to a house fire in the Bowers Hill section of the city Thursday morning.

Firefighters received a call at 9:47 a.m. in reference to a house fire in the 3600 block of Dock Point Arch.

Crews arrived to the scene and found smoke showing from the front entrance of the two-story home. The fire was contained to a single room in the house and was marked out by 9:58 a.m.

According to officials, three adults, five children and one pet were displaced due to the fire, smoke and water damage. Red Cross has been contacted to assist with temporary lodging.

No injuries have been reported.
