CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The Chesapeake Fire Department was on the scene of a house fire that displaced two adults and one dog, officials said.
The call came in around 3:15 p.m. after a citizen reported a fire in the home. Crews arrived on scene within eight minutes and reported heavy smoke and flames near the back of the building.
The fire was reported under control around 3:55 p.m. One person was home during the fire and evacuated safety with their dog before the crew’s arrival.
No injuries were reported and the Red Cross has been contacted to assist with housing.
