CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — City leaders plan to install better rail safety equipment at the crossing on Snowden Street near Hampton Roads Executive Airport.

In March, Taylor Romanczyk, 28, died at that location when a CSX train hit her.

A Chesapeake city spokesperson said the city will spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to put in new lights and crossing gates. However, the railroad must decide when it will install the equipment.
