CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — After 33 years of service, and 12 years as Sheriff in Chesapeake, Jim O’Sullivan is retiring.
On Nov. 1, O’Sullivan will pass the torch to his second-in-command Colonel Dave Rosado. He will be the fourth sheriff in Chesapeake’s history, a release states.
Sheriff O’Sullivan began his career in 1991. In 1992, he joined the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office before being appointed Sheriff in October 2012.
His successor, Rosado, has committed to continuing his good work and programs into the future. Colonel Rosado is a 23-year veteran of the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office.
