CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – The Chesapeake Fire Department responded to a fire inside of an Amazon warehouse on Wednesday morning.
Officials say that fire crews responded to a report of a fire at the Amazon warehouse on Portsmouth Boulevard. Crews arrived to find smoke in the building.
Fire crews say that plastic got caught in a conveyer belt which started a small fire. Employees of the warehouse were able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher.
Three employees at the warehouse complained of smoke inhalation, but only two were transferred to a local hospital.
