CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) –Thousands of residents in parts of Chesapeake were without power Tuesday afternoon.
At the height of the outage, nearly 5,000 Dominion Energy customers were without power. The estimated restoration time was between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. However, crews were able to bring that number down to less than 1,500 by 2 p.m.
Power was fully restored to those affected by around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The outages were primarily concentrated in the Hickory and Great Neck areas of the city. According to Dominion Energy a circuit outage was partly responsible for one of the outages.
