(WAVY) — Impacts from Tropical Storm Ophelia caused flooding, fallen tree limbs, broken poles, etc., and power outages for more than 170,000 customers in Virginia and North Carolina, according to Dominion Energy.

By Sunday morning, the company said it had restored power to 96% of those customers thanks to crews working around the clock in much less than ideal conditions.

The areas that were hit the hardest in Hampton Roads were Virginia Beach, the Peninsula, Suffolk and Portsmouth from damage caused by wind, trees and tree limbs, the release states.
