CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A fire damaged a home Friday night in the Great Bridge area of Chesapeake, leaving two people displaced, the Chesapeake Fire Department said.
No one was injured, a fire official said.
Chesapeake firefighters responded to a report of a home on fire in the 1300 block of Fairhaven Road at 10:35 p.m., with crews arriving within seven minutes to find smoke and flames visible on the outside of the two-story home, Chesapeake Fire said.
Residents were able to get out of the home before crews arrived, and they were able to have the fire under control by 11 p.m.
The fire caused significant damage to the home, Chesapeake Fire said, making it uninhabitable. Two adults living in the home have been displaced and they are handling their arrangements for temporary housing.
