Five displaced following fire in Chesapeake early Monday morning

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY)– Crews responded to a residential structure fire in Chesapeake early Monday morning.

According to officials, crews were called to the 2600 block of Cecilia Terrace at 12:33 a.m. after an occupant reported a fire in their garage. When crews arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke and flames visible from the garage of the two-story home.


Firefighters quickly deployed multiple hose lines to extinguish the fire and marked it under control at 1:00 a.m.

Five adults and one dog are displaced following the fire and will be assisted by the Red Cross.

A neighboring house sustained damage due to the intense heat from the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
