PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — As we say farewell to Halloween, the little ones are likely still on a sugar rush, and if you’re worried about what to do with all the extra candy, a Hampton Roads dental practice can help take it off your hands.
“Parents may think about what they’re going to do with the candy, where they are going to take the candy and stuff like that,” said Tanetta Rodgers, office manager/CTL at Hampton Roads Pediatric Dentistry in Portsmouth. “That’s why we do what we do here. We buy back candy.”
Go to any Hampton Roads Pediatric Dentistry location and get cash for your candy. The candy must be unopened and/or wrapped, and for every pound you bring in, you’ll get a dollar. Plus, the candy goes a long way, as it’s donated to local shelters and groups helping veterans.
“Not only are we giving back into the dentist office keeping the kids’ oral hygiene up and brushing their teeth, we’re also giving something back outside of the dentist,” Rodgers said.
If you want your leftover candy to go to someone in need, stop by one of the Hampton Roads Pediatric Dentistry locations from Nov. 1 through Nov. 15.
“However many pounds you bring in, it’s a dollar per pound, so we’ll take all the candy they can give us,” Rodgers said.
