HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – The Hampton Police Division is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that happened Sunday night, in which one driver fled the scene.

It happened around 8:14 p.m. in the 100 block of W. Mercury Boulevard.

Police say 60-year-old Darryl Blount was attempting to cross the street when he was initially struck by the driver of one vehicle. That driver would leave the scene before police arrived.

Blount was then struck by another vehicle, whose driver remained on scene.

Blount was pronounced dead at the scene by Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue. No charges have been placed at this time, but the crash remains under investigation. No description for the first vehicle has been shared at this time.
