VSP said preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of a 2011 Ford Explorer, Theresa Michelle Tann, was traveling westbound, and entered the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 from Settlers Landing Road.

As Tann traveled westbound in the eastbound lanes, she struck a 2016 Nissan Maxima head-on. The driver of that Nissan, identified as 35-year-old Latonya Alisha Foster, suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

Tann, 52, was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. She will be charged with driving under the influence and manslaughter, according to VSP.
