HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – The grand re-opening for the beloved Hampton Carousel has been postponed due to significant rain and winds in the forecast.
The carousel will remain open on March 23 for rides from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Free rides will be provided regardless of weather.
The ceremony, which was originally scheduled for March 23, has been rescheduled for April 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at 602 Settlers Landing Road.
The carousel will be open until 8 p.m., and free rides will be given the entire day to celebrate the occasion. Activities for the ceremony include face painting, make-and-take crafts and a DJ with dance activities.
Several food trucks will be available for food and drink purchases.
Rides for the carousel are typically $1, and hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily except for Mondays.
