HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Hampton Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead.
The shooting happened at 5:54 a.m. on the 2600 block of W. Pembroke Avenue, at Parrish Avenue.
Police say they received a call in reference to a trespassing complaint, after arriving at the scene they saw a man in the road with a gunshot wound.
According to police, the man, identified as 46-year-old Newport News resident James Thompson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
