HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Police are investigating after a man was shot Monday night on Royston Drive, across I-64 from Downtown Hampton.

Hampton police said officers responded to the no hundred block of Royston Drive just before 8 p.m., where they found a 19-year-old man with a single gunshot wound.

The man’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

A preliminary investigation found the man was walking outside of his home when he was struck by gunfire. The motive and circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, police said.

No other injuries were reported.
