JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Someone in James City County woke up $3 million richer on Saturday after purchasing a Mega Millions ticket.
According to the Virginia Lottery, a ticket purchased from the 7-Eleven at 1800 Jamestown Road matched the first five numbers of Friday night’s drawing, only missing the Mega Ball number. The customer who purchased the winning ticket spent an extra dollar for the Megaplier, making the prize $2 million more than it would have been originally.

The winner of the $3 million ticket has 180 days after drawing date to claim the prize money
The winning numbers from Friday night’s drawing were 8-20-48-58-60, with a Mega Ball number of seven. No ticket was able to match all six numbers, making the jackpot for Tuesday night’s drawing $256 million.
