SUFFOLK, VA. (WAVY) — One adult suffered serious burn injuries after a house fire in Suffolk Sunday night.

At approximately 10 p.m., Suffolk Fire and Rescue responded to the 300 block of Roanoke Street in reference to the residential structure fire.

Upon arrival, around 10:05 p.m., crews found smoke showing from a single-story home. They quickly located and extinguished a fire in the kitchen area.

The fire was marked under control by 10:20 p.m.

All occupants were out of the house before the arrival of fire units.

The injured individual was transported to a local hospital.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
